Graffiti reserarch for photo blog

I was online looking for websites about Minnesota graffiti, for Photo Nes, and I forgot about this news story. The smiley face killer/s and Chris Jenkins

I don't know why I am extra creeped out right now about this story.

I also confirmed my suspicions about the sur13 tag with this article.

1-9-90

What my grand mother, mother and me thought 2000 was going to be like in 1990.

"The world will seem smaller because there will be more traveling. We will be buying and selling to different countries. Computers will make our life easier and computers will make us able to talk to other countries. Trains planes and automobiles will be faster. There will be cures for AIDs and cancer and other harmful diseases. There will be more fast food, microwave foods and tv dinners,"

Grandma

"There will be world peace and we will need that help for cooperating in making the world turn. We will get more time off work and families will be much closer. The population will have more people in their 50's and 60's. We won't have to leave home to shop. There will be different ways to get around like subways and there will be another airport in Minneapolis,"

Mom

"In ten years from now I will be in school getting my masters degree. I'll be living in an apartment in Minnesota. I'll travel a lot to different countries and islands. In ten years from now astronauts will be on Mars or some other planet, and the environment will be a big problem. There'll probably have a pocket computer,"

Me

Wisdom wins here. Mom knows her shopping. I do not know myself or NASA. I wish I was traveling, to different countries or islands, for that matter. I wonder what islands I had in mind.

Additional application questions

I had to answer when applying for a job. Thought they might be fun to post

Describe your favorite family vacation.

  • We went on a long road trip to South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana and North Dakota. We went to the bad lands, black hills, Devil's tower and even the Corn Palace. We stayed in campgrounds, hiked and went fishing.

Where did you go on the first trip you paid for with your own money?

  • I went to Jacksonville Florida, when I was 18 years old. I was visiting 2 of my friends. I took the Greyhound bus, and that alone was quite an adventure.

What is the last book you read, why did you choose to read it, what did you like about it?

  • American God's, by Neil Gaiman. It is about a man named Shadow and a war between the old gods and the "new gods." I chose it because Neil Gaiman is one of my favorite authors. I liked American God's because it comments on today's values of oil, energy and technology, and is an entertaining fantasy novel.

Music choice on a road trip? Music choice just sitting around relaxing?

  • Punk rock and underground hip hop for a road trip. Classic rock and reggae for sitting around relaxing.

If you were involved in any community service activities, please describe the purpose and how you came to be involved.

  • I have helped the Textile Center of Minnesota install an exhibit in their gallery. I went to network with other artists and to help the local art community. I became involved after visiting a few of their events and sales. I contacted them via email and internet.

What leadership roles have you had in past employment, clubs, activities, sports?

  • Co-ordinating delivery and catering orders at D'amicos, shift manager at Bread and Chocolate, and lead baker at the Federal Reserve bank.

Given the following tasks, please number them in the order you would complete them:

  • First I would rake the lawn. Then listen to music while completing the rest of the tasks. Throw in a load of laundry, do dishes and vacuum, switching loads of laundry as needed. Finally write a letter.

Now, explain why you chose to do complete the tasks in the order you chose. (there is no right or wrong answer)

  • Seems logical to me. I like to get up and get outside first thing. Music makes the household chores fun. Laundry is a chore that doesn't need 100% of my attention so I would do the dishes and vacuum between loads. Writing the letter would be relaxing after all of the chores.

You have two consecutive days off from work, what are your plans?

  • Relax at home with my cats. Have some friends over for card games. Check out local events like fairs or shows.

Growing up, did you share a bedroom or have your own room?

  • I am an only child, so no. Every summer I went to camp for at least one week and up to a month. The last 2 years of high school I lived in a dormitory at the Perpich Center for Arts during the week and went home on the weekends.

How were chores or tasks completed in your family?

  • I would charge my mother for chores except for laundry. 1 year after moving out on my own I realized what a brat I was.

Was there a reward system for you and your siblings for completing chores, tasks, homework…?

  • We did not really have a reward system, but I come from a small family and have young parents.

SEX and violence

Buddhist thought for the day according to a widget

I gave way to delight, as mystics have for centuries when they peeked through the curtains and discovered that this world- so manifestly real was actually a tiny stage set constructed by the mind. We discover abruptly that everything we accept as reality is just social fabrications.
